Waasa Naabin Community Youth Services Centre provides program delivery to promote delivery to promote wellness and educate the youth on making healthier choices. The Four components of program delivery are included on a regular basis through workshops, program nights and daily activities.

Cultural Awareness
The Cultural Program is designed to provide cultural awareness and cultural activities to the youth and families of our community. Programming benefits include workshops, out of town trips, teachings, native language, socials, pow-wows, drumming and craft-making.

Health & Wellness
The Health & Wellness program is designed to increase awareness and provide education of health issues and health benefits for the youth or our community. Program delivery includes workshops, presentations, out of town, craft-making, information boards and to form partnership with other community organizations to implement health, wellness activities and education.

Recreation & Leisure
The Recreation Program is designed to provide recreational activities to the youth of our community. These activities are: Basketball and Volleyball Leagues and Open Gym nights in the Youth Centre Gym. The Youth Centre Recreation is also involved with the Wikwemikong Recreational Program, the Pontiac and High School, and the Family Centre in the community. They are also responsible for leisure activities such as Mom ’n’ Tot’s program, monthly birthday socials and out of town trips.

Mental Health Awareness
The Youth Mental Health Program is designed to provide mental health support for the youth of Wikwemikong. This program provides various workshops on Anti-Bullying, Families in Action, Peer Teachings and Suicide Intervention. Activities such as the Girl’s Hockey League (16+), Baseball and Family Blooper ball Leagues. It also delivers program nights with various activities on Tuesday evenings at the Youth Centre.

Tobacco Strategy Youth Action Alliance:
This program is to reduce the current rates of tobacco misuse. This group of peer leaders will accomplish through education and prevention programming of their own design.

| Full-time staff and part-time assistants are hired to deliver the program to compliment the full circle of learning for the youth age 13– 24 years of age. Each program staff is expected to prepare and implement an activity that reflects their respective discipline. |
